The Belgian incumbent Belgacom has said it had a very successful year for its IPTV service Belgacom TV, with 305,319 subscribers at the end of 2007. Last year the company earned 165,654 new homes. ARPU for the digital service was €16.10 a month.
The company said it is pleased with the results of the TV service and has now become a major player in the digital television field. Telenet recently announced it had reached 400,000 digital homes, making Belgacom the second largest digital TV player in the country. Digital penetration now stands at 22% in the country, compared with 12% a year earlier. Last year, Belgacom invested €91 million in the TV service, including the introduction of the ‘comfort view’ offer that provides pause live TV and one-touch recording on the PVR.

Connected TV Forecasts NEW REPORT.
