The regional media authorities have given the green light to the Mobile 3.0 consortium to start DVB-H broadcasts in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Transmissions should start on June 1, 2008, for a period of three years, just in time for the start of the Euro 2008 Football championship. The issuing of the licences follows the recommendation of the joint directors of all the regional media authorities. (See also our story in an earlier edition of BTN). The offer will consist of the main channels ARD, ZDF, RTL, Vox, Sat.1, Pro Sieben, N24 and N-TV, as well as local station Hamburg 1 and various radio stations.
