Comcor TV prepares for HD

CSTB 2008, Moscow: Renova Media-owned ComCor TV, which operates under the brand name Akado, is likely to start trialling three HD channels by the end of this year. According to a source at its sister company ComCor, the ComCor TV will employ a fibre-optic link from Stockholm, working with Telia Sonera, to deliver the channels to Russia. Two of the services will be proprietary sports channels and the third the film channel TV1000. Comcor TV expects to order 500.000 new set-top boxes in 2009.
