Janis Sidovsky has been appointed the new spokesman for the Czech digital channel Barrandov TV. A well-known producer and manager, he will play an important role in the launch of the channel, which along with Febio TV, TV Pohoda, Ocko, RTA and Z1 was awarded a ‘compensatory’ licence in late 2007.

TVN confirms Warsaw channel
The Polish national commercial broadcaster TVN has officially confirmed that it plans to launch an info channel serving Warsaw at the end of Q4 this year.
LG to stream Netflix to your TV
US online DVD rental service Netflix and Korean electronics-giant LG have announced they are working on a set-top box which will stream movies directly over the internet to a television set.
Disney and Sony take FilmFlex control
On Demand Group (ODG), the VOD service provider owned by technology company SeaChange International, has sold its holding in FilmFlex Movies Limited to the two other existing shareholders The Walt Disney Company Limited and Columbia Pictures Corporation Limited (Sony). The pre-Christmas transaction was revealed in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
