UPC Ireland has launched is digital video recorder throughout the country. The Thomson-manufactured device was originally launched last August, but was restricted to areas including Dublin, Galway and Waterford.
The device is available free of charge, though attracts an additional monthly fee that has been initially been set at €5. The launch is part of the recently announced ‘Digital for All’ programme that is offering a free digital upgrade for existing analogue customers.
The 160GB hard disk allows for the recording of around 80 hours of programming. All the familiar features are included, such as the ability to pause and record live TV and watch one programme while recording another.
