The Russian alternative telco Golden Telecom is reported to have forecast that it will have annual sales of $3 billion (€2.06 billion) for on demand services by 2012. It also expects its profits to rise to $364 million within the next four years. Golden Telecom, which was recently acquired by the mobile company VimpelCom for $4.3 billion, is currently constructing a FTTH network that it is hoped will eventually serve almost one in three of Russia’s population.
