BSkyB has been given an extension on the deadline to appeal against a ruling on the 17.9% stake it holds in commercial broadcaster ITV. The Competition Appeals Tribunal says BSkyB has been told it can wait until after the verdict on the shareholding has been given until it launches an appeal.
The satellite broadcaster has yet to decide if it will appeal against the decision and prefers to wait for the business secretary John Hutton to deliver his own conclusions before entering any appeal.
In December the Competition Commission published its recommendations that BSkyB should reduce its holding in ITV to below 7.5%.
