German RTL to offer series on iTunes
The German RTL Group will offer selected programmes on the iTunes store, the broadcaster said today. The programmes will continue to be available as streams on the RTLNow video portal.
Viability of French terrestrial pay-TV questioned
The viability of terrestrial pay TV in France in questioned after the media group Lagardere Interactive said it might cease the broadcasts of its low pay kids channel Canal J on the French digital terrestrial network. The announcement follows the closure of AB1 of the Groupe AB last October.

The Italian ISP Tiscali is to cease its IPTV service Tiscali TV at the end of the year.
KabelBW completes network upgrade
The German cable operator KabelBW says it has completed its network upgrade with the addition of the town of Schramberg in the Black Forest. The upgrade is part of the €150 million investment programme for 2008 (Fast Internet for all), which now encompasses 99% of all households served by the cabler.
KPN sells share in NostalgieNet
The Dutch communications provider KPN has sold its share in the thematic channel NostalgieNet, which specialises in nostalgic programming, to Tijdsbeeld Media Holding.

Harmonic has announced it is to acquire Scopus Video Networks in a deal worth $51 million. The agreement will further extend Harmonic’s influence into video broadcast, contribution and distribution markets.

News Corp is to guarantee two rights issues as part of a €525 million debt restructure of the German pay-TV platform Premiere.
