The Bulgarian alternative telco Vestitel BG is reported to have extended its fibre-optic network to the cities of Pernik and Dupnitsa in the South West of the country. Vestitel BG is a unit of the gas company Overgas, which is backed by Russia’s Gazprom. It operates an IPTV service in parts of the capital, Sofia, and plans to shortly extend it to several other cities including Varna, Burgas and Ruse. BTC, the incumbent Bulgarian telco owned by AIG Investments, has yet to launch an IPTV service.
