French cable operator Numéricable announced today it has connected three more cities to its optic fibre networks, Béthune, Reims and Nancy, as part of a programme to also connect smaller cities to a fast network.
During the next three months the operator hopes to add 70 more municipalities to fibre. This will include bigger cities such as Toulouse, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Marseille and Tours, but also smaller placer like Béthune, Reims, Nancy, Dunkerque, Caen, Versailles, Montélimar, Talence, Niort and Chambéry.
Numéricable now claims to be the biggest fibre operator of the country offering super fast internet access using Docsis 3.0 offering speeds up to 100 Mbps as well as HD television and VOD services.
