Investment firm Cinven is about to sell half of its 70% interest in French cable operator Numéricable, according to a French newspaper report. Carlyle and Providence are named as potential buyers of the shares.
Cinven hopes to make about €1 billion for the sale, valuing the company at €3 billion. Should the sale take place, Cinven will own 35% and Altice 30% of the cable operator, which is France’s largest MSO. Numéricable also owns the Coditel companies in Luxembourg and Belgium.
