Hungary is reported to have put back a DTT multiplex tender until the end of next year. It was initially due to take place in October but was postponed after failing to receive parliamentary approval. Hungary enacted legislation earlier this year paving the way for the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting – a process due to be concluded by the end of 2011. It envisaged the launch of three DTT multiplexes, with two more being added at a later date. The first multiplex is expected to carry mostly existing public and commercial channels, while the second will allocate some capacity to mobile TV services.
