Data produced by TNS OBOP shows that the Polish public broadcaster’s two national channels TVP1 and TVP2 were the most watched in the country in November by viewers aged 4+. However, their audience shares of 22.81% (TVP1) and 17.40% (TVP2) were lower than the 24.29% and 18.59% recorded in the corresponding month last year. TVP1 was also the most watched channel in the 16-49 age group (19.33%, 20.44% in November 2006), followed by TVN (19.07%, 19.49%), and TVN the most popular in the 16-49 age group in urban areas (20.92%, 20.72%). TVN24 was again the most watched thematic channel, claiming 3.50% of viewers in the 4+ age group and 2.12% among those aged 16-49. Significantly, all four leading channels – TVP1, TVP2, Polsat and TVN – continue to lose viewers to regional and thematic services.
