The Estonian transmission company Levira will open a third multiplex on the country’s DTT platform this week for FTA public and commercial channels. It will cover almost 100% of the country, as opposed to the 93% reached by the two current ones, which are given over to the 20-channel ZUUMtv pay service.
The public broadcaster ETV will be transferred to the new multiplex and the independent sports channel Kalev Sport launched on it. It will also carry the new commercial channels TV6 (Viasat) and Kanal 11 (Schibsted), due to be launched in the next few months, and may also distribute Viasat’s and Kanal 2’s primary analogue channels. ETV aims to launch a second channel named ETV2, only in DTT, in the autumn of next year.
