The new German literary channel Lettra has started broadcasting on the Astra satellite at 19.2 degrees East. The channel is available in both the Premiere Star and the ArenaSat DTH bouquets and hopes to reach a potential audience of at least 500,000 homes by teh end of the year.
Programming on the new channel consists of daily talks shows about books, interviews with authors and journalists, reviews of new publications, documentaries, educational programmes, clips, movies and plays based on literary works and more. Lettra is privately owned by Jan Henne De Dijn and Carsten Meincke, based in Berlin and employs 20 people.
