The Dutch language religious channel Family7 will lose its distribution on Essent @Home and Multikabel, the two Zesko owned cable networks that carried it. According to the cable operator, research has shown there is little or no interest in religious channels on their networks.
Earlier this year UPC also dropped the channel, claiming low interest from subscribers. MSO Casema never carried the service.
Originally, @Home and Multikabel also decided to cancel distribution of the religious channels Omega TV and Geloven from the public broadcasters EO and NCRV. However, following pressure from Christian politicians, the two cable companies decided to continue to carry the services.
