A new sports channel kicks off in the Francophone market on Sunday. Ma Chaîne Sport will be available in France, Belgium and Luxembourg with carriage already secured on the French cablenet Numéricable.
Ma Chaîne Sport will cover a mix of events from gymnastics through to Scottish football and extreme sports. “The objective is that everyone will find a programme which is appropriate to him, at one time or another of the day,” explained the channel’s president Nicolas Rotkoff, the former head of sport at satellite platform TPS before its merger with CanalSat.
The French market already has a number of sports channels including the premium Sport+, Canal+ Sport, a well established local version of Eurosport, Eurosport 2, Infosport and Extreme Sports.
