Sogecable is back in the black after announcing a net profit of €50.3 million in the first nine months of the year, compared to a €25.9 million loss for the same period in 2006. The results were ahead of those predicted by analysts and followed last week’s court decision preventing rival Mediapro from selling football rights in the 2007/08 season.
DTH platform Digital+ recorded 2.046 million subscribers, but the 40,000 rise on last year was still 10,000 down on the previous quarter. However, the figures were still strong enough top give Sogecable its highest ever third quarter subscriber revenues of €260.2 million.
Digital+ churn was slightly up at 11.% on September 30, 2007, compared to 11.7 a year ago. Average subscriber revenue went in the other direction at €41.4 compared to €41.3 in the third quarter of 2006.
