Virgin Media is to introduce high definition content from Channel 4 into its on demand service. The programmes will be made available free of charge for seven days after transmission as part of the 4oD service. The agreement also opens the possibility for Channel 4’s projected HD service also being made available over the cablenet. The BBC HD ‘test channel’ is already available to Virgin Media subscribers.
Virgin also carries on demand content in the HD format from its movie provider FilmFlex, The History Channel and the BBC.
