Campaign TV is to launch the UK’s first politics channel to openly support a particular political party. The station is backed by a group of independent filmmakers that will support the UK’s governing Labour Party. The group says that the non-profit initiative is alternative to the right leaning political content found on other websites. One of the most well known is 18 Doughty Street, the broadband channel fronted by the well-known conservative commentator and blogger Iain Dale.
Launch features on the channel include an interview with Prime Minister Gordon Brown at last week’s Labour Party Conference, an interview with Lord Attenborough on the significance of the new Nelson Mandela statue in London’s Parliament Square and a debate on Muslim identity.
The station is the latest to be powered by the Narrowstep technology and is being produced by independent production company, Silverfish Creative.
