The Austrian branch of the ProSiebenSat1 group has outlined its plans for Puls TV, the Vienna based regional broadcaster it acquired earlier this year (see Broadband TV News passim). The channel will be rolled out nationwide and will be called Puls 4 – to position it as the fourth national TV network, alongside ORF1, ORF2 and ATV.
Puls 4 will bring 12 hours of original programming a day of which nine hours will be Austrian originated content. Programming will comprise of four pillars: live magazine and news; live talk shows; live events and movies and series. The new channel will be launched on February 4, 2008 and will also have a strong multimedia presence, including the Web and mobile.
