T-Mobile could start a mobile TV trial in Croatia by the end of the year, according to the government minister Miroslav Kovacic. Kovacic was speaking at a conference entitled E-Content and quoted in the local press. Although he did not name T-Mobile specifically, speaking instead about the mobile sector in general, it could be inferred given developments elsewhere in the industry. Mobilkom Austria-backed Vipnet, the country’s leading mobile operator, has already been offering TV channels such as CNN and Eurosport on its 3G network for some time. Tele2, on the other hand, has stated publicly that it has no plans to offer mobile TV services.
