Sky Amstrad offer goes unconditional

BSkyB’s £125 million (€185 million) takeover of set-top box manufacturer Amstrad is all set to proceed after the broadcaster received acceptances representing 89.49% of the group’s shares.

BSkyB said that the offer had now been declared fully unconditional.

The process follows a ruling from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) that the sale would not breach competition guidelines.
