UK set-top-box vendor TVonics will pre-release its new line of DVB-T receivers. Including a new DVB-T Set-top Box which features audio description a service that provides an essential aid for the blind or partially-sighted by adding audio information to regular TV broadcasts. The TVonics box will be one of the first boxes on the market to handle the extra audio track. Sony is also adding the feature to its LCD TVs with integrated receivers. Audio description has recently been made compulsary for UK broadcasters. The UK being the only country to date to do so.
For the second or third TV in the house, the company will launch a DVB-T ‘Box’ the size of a credit card.
In addition to its current DVR-FP 250, 250 GB hard disk, twin tuner digital video recorder, which it is looking to launch in other European markets beside the UK, TVonics will launch its new twin tuner, dual record Freeview Playback certified digital video recorder.
