Apple has announced a line-up of 28 television titles that will be featured on the UK version of its iTunes store. The content is headlined by familiar titles from ABC Studios including Lost, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty. Lesser known UK originated content will also be available and this includes MTV’s Barrio 19, Nickelodeon’s Genie in the House and Paramount Comedy’s Comedy Blue.
In line with Apple’s policy of a blanket price point, all of the titles will retail for £1.89, not far short of the price paid in US dollars.
The content can be downloaded for viewing on the Mac, PC, Apple’s so-called 5th generation iPod and one of the new Apple TV devices.
Apple is expected to extend the video service to other European territories later this year.
