Ofcom has appointed Jill Ainscough as its new chief operating officer. The post has been left vacant since the appointment of Ed Richards as Ofcom’s chief executive in 2006.
The COO role oversees several of Ofcom’s technology and spectrum operations as well as organisation, planning and development.
Ainscough was most recently managing director of Easynet, prior to the broadband provider’s acquisition by BSkyB. She stayed with the company to manage the integration programme.
Previous roles include head of market development for NTL and a business planner for Cambridge Cable.
