Ofcom has announced a further consultation on the proposed auction for spectrum between 1452 and 1492 MHz. The consultation is designed to address some of the issues that came out of the earlier consultation in March 2006 and the discussion document published on February 15 this year.
The 1452 and 1492 MHz is a part of the so-called L-band – a frequency range that will be of interest to providers of mobile TV and data services. The L-band is also used for digital audio broadcasting (DAB).
The new consultation covers a number of technical issues including alternative proposals for a spectrum mask and wider spectrum usage rights.
