The Polish cable operator Aster Group is likely to be a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) by the end of the year. Local reports say it is already engaged in talks with the country’s existing mobile networks, a deal being likely with either PTK Centertel (Orange) or Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (Era). The Aster Group is Poland’s fourth largest MSO after UPC, Vectra and Multimedia Polska, with operations in Warsaw, Kraków and Zielona Góra. Among other companies also planning to shortly become MVNOs are the DTH platform Cyfra+ and alternative telco Telefonia Dialog.
