The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has said it will launch its first two HD channels this autumn. According to Mariana Kmity, the director of sport at Polsat, Polsat Sport HD will make its debut on October 12, becoming the third sports channel operated by the broadcaster after Polsat Sport and Polsat Sport Extra. It will be followed Polsat HD later in the autumn, and by Q1 2008 Cyfrowy Polsat should have 4-5 proprietary HD services up and running. Cyfrowy Polsat is currently the leading DTH operator in Poland, claiming around 1.5 million subscribers.
