BSkyB has announced an 11% increase in its commercial fees for pubs that screen its new Football+ packages from the start of the new season. Earlier this year, Sky offered pubs the chance to freeze the amount paid for their subscriptions if they signed for the new package before June 22. The actual cost of the subscription is dependent on the size of the premises.
Football+ includes content from both Sky Sports as well as Setanta Sports’ newly gained Premiership matches that will be screened on Saturday and Monday evenings. It also includes Setanta’s coverage of US PGA Tour Golf.
Domestic subscribers will also see an increase in their subscriptions from the beginning of September. The cost of the Sky World package, including the Sky Sports and Sky Movies channels, will rise to £45.
