Babelgum, the Internet TV network, today announced agreements with 25 independent owners and distributors of professional video content. The work of established filmmakers and newcomers will be promoted ‘side by side’ on the independent distribution platform.
The content partners include the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival, Ministry of Sound TV, Shine, IMG, 3DD, Off The Fence, Journeyman Films, Entertainment Rights, Film Chest and Breakthrough Films.
Amongst the highlights on Babelgum will be exclusive coverage of the Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival, an annual event at which short films from both established filmmakers and newcomers are viewed and judged on a completely level platform.
Silvio Scaglia, Babelgum’s chairman and co-founder commented in a press release, “The agreements we’ve announced today will be followed by many more as we build a library of up to 100,000 hours of independent and mainstream content from around the world. It is this variety of individually delivered professional content, coupled with the inherent interactivity of the Internet, that creates an entirely new user experience. On Babelgum, niche audiences will have immediate access to the content that works for them.”
