The English language news channel Russia Today is now available as a FTA service in the Nordic region and Baltic Republics. Distributed by Sirius at 5 degrees East, it can be viewed on the Viasat EPG. Earlier this week Russia Today, which is backed by TV-Novosti, began distributing a branded service on YouTube. It is already available over the Internet and claims to have viewers in over 100 countries worldwide. The Sirius satellite system serves the Nordic region, Baltic Republics and Central and Eastern Europe and is owned by SES Astra (75%) and Swedish Space Corporation (25%).
