The Russian telco Golden Telecom has raised a $180 million (€133.8 million) loan through a subsidiary named Sovintel. According to a local report, the money will be used to both buy the broadband company Corbina Telecom and Fortland, a company licensed to sell DVB services in Moscow and St Petersburg. Golden Telecom lists Altimo (29%), Telenor (20%) and Rostelecom (11%) as its principal shareholders. It provides a broad range of services throughout Russia and the CIS, and in Moscow operates Golden WiFi, the largest citywide WiFi network in the world.
