Canal Digital has confirmed it will be carrying DR Update, the news channel from public broadcaster Danmarks Radio, launching on June 7. In addition to a place within the ‘Local Pakken’ – where subscribers pay only for the cost of the smart card – DR Update will also have distribution to the 660,000 households served by the shared antenna systems of danske antenneforeninger. The channel will also be distributed over the internet.
DR Update will feature a number of names familiar to Danish audiences including sports presenter Louise Bjerregaard, former TV3 newsreader Lotte Thor-Jensen and TV2 presenter Kasper Jessing.
