Sling Media has finally released a full version of its SlingPlayer software for the Mac. The software has been available as a beta version since the middle of last year. The new software finally gives Mac users the familiar look and feel of other Mac OS X programs, however the reaction on bulletin boards has noe been entirely favourable.
“We have long admired the elegance, simplicity and visual appeal of the Mac OS and Apple’s innovation in general,” said Blake Krikorian, Sling Media CEO, Chairman & Co-founder. “It was important for us to capture that overall appeal and familiarity with SlingPlayer for Mac”. He added that the introduction of SlingPlayer for the Mac was a real milestone towards delivering the software across all displays. The company already has a mobile version available.
The SlingPlayer ‘place-shifting’ software allows users to view their domestic television, remotely over the Internet, wherever they are in the world. Over 5,000 devices are included in the SlingPlayer database.
