According to local reports, the incumbent Bulgarian telco BTC has launched a web-based TV service. Available in six different pre-paid packages, it includes music videos, film trailers and TV programmes and can be accessed by the company’s approximately 100,000 ADSL subscribers. BTC’s mobile subsidiary Vivatel is meanwhile expected to launch a 3G service later this month. Also in Bulgaria, the Association of Advertising Agencies has said it expects ad spend in the country to grow by 35% to €250 million this year. Although TV’s share is gradually falling, it still remains the medium of choice, accounting for just under 50% of total spend in 2006.
