ADB has announced it will be supplying digital cable boxes into the Belgian market after an agreement with the In.Di cable consortium in Flanders. ADB will be supplying two products, the IND-5800C interactive cable STB and an advanced digital video recorder (DVR) the IND-5810CX, both of which will be compatible with high definition television that In.Di intends to launch in April.
The two boxes are based on the ADB-5000 product series and are capable of handling both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 transport streams. The hardware features combine a state-of-the-art microprocessor and an HDMI interface. In.Di uses the Nagravision conditional access system and MHP middleware. The DVR features a 250GB hard disk drive with on-screen navigation developed by Osmosys.
The basic HD box will be available for €229, with a €99 discount for current In.Di subscribers. The HD PVR (250GB) available from mid-May will be priced at €369, with existing digital subscribers being offered a discount of €99.
In.Di was launched in 2004 and is one of three digital TV providers in the Belgian market.
