Ashley Highfield’s BBC Future Media and Technology division has hired Colin Whitbread as its new controller of service delivery. He joins on April 30 also lead and manage the BBC and Siemens Technology Partnership. Whitbread joins from ONO, where he had taken on an interim assignment as director of operational service excellence for the Spanish cable operator. He was previously group operations director for Telewest Broadband, group director, central operations, NTL and also spent five years with France Telecom.
Already in place, Nic Newman has been appointed future media and technology controller, journalism. Newman will work on the development of new services and formats made possible by new technologies.
