Eutelsat has moved all of its Hot Bird 2 customers to the co-located Hot Bird 8 satellite. The changes were made as a precautionary measure overnight on March 14 after an anomaly was observed in the power sub system of the ten year old Matra Marconi Atlas IIA craft.
Channels impacted by the move include those belonging to Sky Italia, RAI, ART and Nova, although the frequencies concerned remain unchanged, meaning that no consumer action is required.
The anomaly is now under investigation by Eutelsat’s technical team.
