Serbia’s Telecommunications Agency (RRA) has issued licences to 20 cable operators, including state-owned PTT KDS, and the Belgrade-based private companies AV Kom, Kopernikus, Pogled MSM, Alzovedo and Kablkom.
There are an estimated 58 cable operators in Serbia, 14 of which are active in the capital, Belgrade. They charge a monthly subscription fee of RSD 410-525 (€5.00-6.50), while the initial connection fee costs RSD 1500-3600 (€18.75-45.00). According to Jovan Radunovic, the president of the Board of RRA, more than 150 Serbian ISPs have also received licences.(BP)
