French cable operator Noos has launched a series of themed interactive video mosaics based on the new httv Prime//Mosaic solution. The genre-based mosaics allow the viewer to navigate from one thumbnail to the next using their remote control. The audio can be synchronised with each image or linked to an interactive service within a themed portal. The new solution increases the flexibility and reduces the cost of creating mosaic-based channels.
It is currently available in versions for OpenTV (as used by Noos), MHP/OCAP and IPTV middlewares. The mosaic builder can construct a video feed from up to 20 audio and video sources that are output as a multiplexed stream combining video, multiple audio tracks, signalling information and the interactive application.
