A total of 15 companies have applied for cable and wireless broadcast licences in Montenegro. However, only one (Broadband Montenegro) has expressed an interest in providing services in all of the country’s 21 municipalities and another (Telekabi) in all but five. According to the Serbian news agency Beta, the Slovenian company BBS has a 20% stake in Broadband Montenegro, while another Slovenian company named gre owns 20% of Telekabi. The licence awards will be made on January 28. Separately, an Internet TV service has been launched in Croatia. Known as Smart Televizja, the service was two years in the planning and is on air from 10.00 –13.00 daily. It can be viewed with a Windows Media Player on: http://www.smarttv.com.hr (BP)
