Satellite radio operator WorldSpace is to move its London playout facility from Soho Square to WRN’s headquarters in South London. WRN is to expand its master control room to provide studio facilities and office space for up to 10 staff. Marketing Manager Tim Aryris told Broadband TV News there would be no disruption of service when the handover takes place in March 2007.
There will be no change to the playout of Worldspace’s channels from its facility in Washington DC.
In addition to its own branded channels, WRN has established itself as an international transmission company, offering permenant satellite transmissions, Internet services, broadcast consultancy and studio facilities. WRN has also begun television broadcasts, taking the Word from a radio station to a TV format. (JC)
