TalkTalk CEO Dido Harding says the ISP has begun end-to-end consumer acceptance testing of its YouView product as the precursor to a full consumer trial.
“We expect to be moving through trials and pilots through Q4 and Q1 on track for launch Spring 2012, exactly as we said in November,” said Harding.
The tests include not only the customer experience in the home, but also ensuring that the provisioning aspects are in place.
In November TalkTalk gave a timetable that saw the launch of trials for TalkTalk TV, including YouView during the fourth financial quarter.
An initial 3,000 ‘Friends and Family’ will be offered the service that will be run on boxes supplied by Huawei before extending to up to 10,000 homes early in 2012.
TalkTalk, which has struggled to reduce churn during the migration of the former Pipex business, said a return to positive net ads not dependent on the YouView launch.
Last week, BT said it expected YouView to launch during the summer.
